5 Keto-Friendly Whisky Cocktails

The Ketogenic diet is a low-carb, high-fat diet that’s taken the world by storm.
While alcohol isn’t usually “keto-friendly”, it’s still possible to enjoy a cocktail and stay in ketosis!
You just have to make smart choices about replacing the sugar and carbs in your cocktails.
First, start with a whisky that is low-carb and keto-friendly, but balanced enough so that you can mix it with low-carb mixers, and it won’t clash with the flavors. Our favorite is Texas Crown Club Whisky.
It’s aged in real American Oak bourbon barrels that give it a vanilla and caramel sweetness, without the carbs or sugar!

1. Keto-Friendly Old Fashioned

2 ounces of Texas Crown Club Whisky 2 Dashes Angostura bitters 2 Drops stevia, to taste 1 Orange twist
A keto-friendly version of a classic that’s even simpler to make!
Since you’re not muddling a sugar cube with your bitters, you can just mix everything together, serve over ice, and enjoy!

2. Keto-Friendly Strawberry Lemonade Whisky Smash

2 ounces of Texas Crown Club Whisky Squeeze of lemon ½ oz Stevia 2 Fresh strawberries, sliced
Combine stevia, strawberries, and lemon juice into a cocktail shaker. Muddle the ingredients, then add ice and whisky. Shake well, and strain into a highball glass not sure what that is?

3. Keto-Friendly Pickleback Shot

1 oz Texas Crown Club Whisky 1 oz Pickle juice
Most shots are too sweet to be keto-friendly, but not a pickleback shot! No adaptations are necessary because it’s already a keto-friendly drink. It’s even rumored to be a hangover cure!
You’ll need two shot glasses: one for the whisky, and one for the pickle juice. Take a shot of each, starting with the whisky. Cheers!

4. Keto-Friendly Blackberry Whisky Lemonade

1.5 oz Texas Crown Club Whisky 3 Blackberries 5 Mint leaves 4 oz Sugar-free lemonade
Splash of Topo Chico Sparkling Mineral Water (
Naturally low in carbs, blackberries make the perfect addition to this cocktail! Add blackberries and mint leaves in a cocktail shaker and muddle.
Add ice and whisky, and shake vigorously. Strain into a rocks glass with ice, and add lemonade. Top with Topo Chico.

5. Keto-Friendly Hot Chocolate

1 oz Texas Crown Club Whisky
 1 Tbsp cocoa powder 1 Tbsp powdered coconut milk Stevia, to taste Pinch of salt 10 oz Hot water
Perfect for a cozy night in!
Add cocoa, powdered coconut milk, and salt to a mug. Add hot water and stir well. Add stevia to taste, then add the whisky.
For some interesting variations on this recipe, you can add some peppermint, orange zest, chai spices, or even a pinch of chipotle for a kick!
