Autumn Whisky Cocktails to Try

We’ve made it to August, which can only mean one thing: the season of cozy spices, pumpkin-flavoring and cooler weather is almost upon us. Whether you prefer to celebrate Fall with an apple cider, a pumpkin spice latte, or a hot toddy, we’ve curated recipes for a boozy whisky twist on each. Because, in our opinion, Texas Crown and Autumn go together like whisky and honey.
Apple Cider Whisky Cocktail Recipe adapted from
No autumn season is complete without an apple cocktail. Apples are at their peak in September and October, meaning you’ll have your pick of the bunch to choose from for this recipe. This festive drink is a gorgeous burnt orange color and is garnished with an apple slice, making it a showstopper on harvest tables and serving trays alike.
  • 1 ½ ounces Texas Crown whisky
  • 1 ounce apple cider
  • 1 tablespoon apple butter
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3 tablespoons ginger beer
  • 3 tablespoons hard apple cider
  • Thinly sliced apples for garnish
  1. Add whiskey, apple cider, apple butter, lemon juice, and ground cinnamon to a cocktail shaker. Secure lid and shake briefly to combine.
  2. Pour into desired glasses. Top with ginger beer, hard apple cider, and apple slices to garnish. Serve chilled.
Frozen Pumpkin Spiked Latte Recipe adapted from
This boozy twist on the classic pumpkin spice latte is cozy in a cup. The frothed milk and nutmeg garnish add a sweet decadence to every sip. All you’ll need to whip these up is a blender and an espresso machine.
    • 12 oz unsweetened almond milk, frozen into cubes
    • 3 oz Texas Crown Whisky
    • 2 shots of espresso (you can use Nespresso Caramelito pods)
    • 2 oz real maple syrup
    • 2 tbsp canned pumpkin
    • 1 tsp pumpkin spice
    1. Make ahead: freeze the almond milk into ice cubes.
    2. Add everything to the blender and blend on the highest setting until fully blended.
    3. Pour and top with almond milk foam or plain whipped cream.
    4. Garnish with freshly grated nutmeg or a pinch of cinnamon.
Maple Ginger Hot Toddy Recipe adapted from
A perfect recipe for those crisp Autumn nights, this hot toddy is cozy and bright, with maple syrup, lemon and ginger. You can dress it up with oranges, pomegranate, cinnamon, clove and thyme, or just enjoy as is. Either way, it’s the perfect cocktail to set the mood for any Fall celebration or night at home.
      • 8 ounces hot water
      • 1 ginger tea bag
      • 3 ounces Texas Crown Whisky
      • 1 ounce fresh lemon juice
      • 1 ounce maple syrup or honey
      • For garnish: orange, apple, or lemon slices, pomegranates, fresh thyme, cinnamon stick, or clove studs
      1. In a mug, pour the hot water over the tea bag and steep for 3 to 5 minutes. Squeeze the tea bag and discard.
      2. Pour the tea, whisky, lemon juice, and maple syrup into a liquid measuring glass. Stir, and pour into 2 serving mugs or glasses.
      3. Adjust sweetener to taste.
