How to Throw the Best Game Day Party

It’s time to watch the biggest game of the year! If you’re planning on hosting a game day party for family and friends, take the time to plan out some delicious drinks and dishes to make and fun activities to play for a party your guests will never forget. Here are some of our game day party recipes and games ideas.

Game Day Food

The next best thing to watching the big game is the party food! When hosting a game day party, it’s important to have a variety of finger foods for your guests to eat. That way, they can quickly fill their plate and get back to watching the game. A great way to keep all your snacks in one place while also adding a themed touch to your party is building a snack stadium. You can find these at your local party store or by ordering online. Set up the stadium and then have fun deciding which snacks to fill it with! Chicken wings are always a fan favorite at a game day party, and we like ours made with some Texas Crown Club Whisky! Check out this recipe to create some mouthwatering chicken wings for your guests.

      Game Day Drinks

For drinks, beer is always a staple to have on hand for your guests, but if they are looking for something a bit stronger create a whisky cocktail with Texas Crown! One of our favorite, easy-to-make gameday cocktails is the Football Fizz. Made with our whisky, ginger ale, and lime, this refreshing game day drink is perfect for serving to guests.
      Football Fizz
      • 3 oz. of Texas Crown Club Whisky
      • 2 cups of ginger ale (more or less to taste)
      • Juice of 1 lime
      • Ice
Divide ginger ale, whisky, and lime juice between two highball or large glasses. Garnish with an extra lime if desired and enjoy!

      Game Day Party Games

One of the more popular party games, a football pool, is great for those who want to place their bets for a chance to win some cash. You can create the pool board by downloading a free printable one online or buy a posterboard and draw in the squares.
Draw 11 equal squares across the top of the board and 10 more down the left side (eleven including the already completed square in the left corner). Next, draw a 10 X 10 grid of squares inside of the row and column of squares you just created. Now, divide 100 by the number of participants to determine how many squares each person gets. Once you have that number, each participant will write their name in that amount of random squares.
After you have all of the names filled in, put the numbers 0 through 9 on small pieces of paper into a hat. Have someone pick them out one by one. Write those numbers as they are picked across the top squares in order. Repeat for the squares down the left side of the board. Finally, split the first square in the top left corner with each team’s name.

      How to win:

At the end of every quarter, the person whose square corresponds with the intersection of the second digit of each team’s score wins a prize. Often, if a square is unowned, you can roll over the money to the next quarter.
The final score usually pays out the highest sum.

      Game Day Party Games

Not interested in gambling and want a different game to play? A game day TV Commercial Bingo is a fun way to play with the iconic commercials aired during the game. Create the bingo board by hand or with a free downloadable version online. Fill in the boxes with your predictions of the content of each commercial and the first person to get bingo wins!
